In book two of the Kanner Lake Series by Brandilyn Collins, a murder and a cryptic message plunge a small resort community in the wilds of northern Idaho into a terrifying encounter with the supernatural. And the solution appears to be one that can’t be true … but must be.
Leslie Williams hurries out to her car on a typical workday morning—and discovers a dead body inside. Why was the corpse left for her to find? And what is the meaning of the message pinned to its chest? In Coral Moon, the senseless murder of a beloved Kanner Lake citizen spirals the small Idaho town into a terrifying glimpse of spiritual forces beyond our world. What appears true seems impossible.
Or is it?

Coral Moon has got to be one of my favorite novels by Brandilyn I have read! Just like she warned in the authors note in the beginning of the book, Brandilyn gives readers something quite different than her other books, including the first book of the Kanner Lake Series,– which Coral Moon is the second installment– Violet Dawn. This book gives us a glimpse into the unseen world around us. And as Brandilyn’s readers have come to expect, as you read it, you cannot forget to breath because there are so many parts where you may be in danger of just that!
The plot was well-planned out and executed, mixing flashbacks with the present day happenings in Kanner Lake.
Every character we have gotten to know makes an appearance in Coral Moon and are just as likeable–if not more– then before. A few new characters are introduced to help keep the story fresh, even though I do not think that I could ever get tired of the townsfolk. Especially Bailey Truitt, the owner of Java Joint, the towns local coffee shop. Her kind and warm spirit just makes me want to jump into the pages and hug her!
Buckle up for another title from Brandilyn that is worthy of her trademark Seatbelt Suspense!

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are mine.
